An alliance of investors representing about $21 billion in assets in the United States, Europe and Australia is walking the talk. They have signed a statement on "Freedom Of Expression ," a human rights initiative spearheaded by media watchdog Reporters Without Borders.
This will be an effective step to put pressure on governments who curb their citizens right to freedom of expression. Governments will have to weigh out security against freedom and do what is is right. Human rights abuses and unnecessary censorship will not be the way to achieve those aims.
