Gift Giving

Gifts are given in all seasons. Some gifts are for all seasons while there are gifts that are special to specific occasions. From Chinese new year, to Valentine, to national days, to birthdays, to christmas, to halloween and new years; they have special meaning for different types of celebration.

It's the Chinese new year, the biggest festival for Chinese . You'll see lots of red packets and oranges given away with colourful dragon dances amid loud drumbeats where crowds of people come to soak in the festive atmosphere. Valentine is quite a personal affair for expressions of love to one another and blooming flowers would be in high demand. Designer goods, greeting cards, chocolates and big-time parties would go for birthdays. You'll see horror fiction come alive in halloween, while christmas has become a commercial affair to promote tourism in several countries.

If you have a writer friend do you give a book and the latest food recipes to your food loving friend. Selecting gifts in this manner may not provide the best value for your friends. chances are that your writer friend has already bought the latest fiction, and he is more knowledgeable than you about books unless you are also a great book lover. Why not give what you really want and can give with love and sincerity.
